19-year-old singer hailing from a middle-class of this industrial city of Punjab had gone to Maldives for a promotional event with the music company with which he had a contract.<br /><br />Relatives at his residence here said the family was informed telephonically by the music company officials that Ishmeet died while swimming in a hotel pool in the Maldives.<br /><br />"We are too shocked to react. We have no other information so far," a shocked relative told IANS here while confirming the tragic news.<br /><br /><span class="fullpost"><br />Relatives, friends and admirers of the singer made a beeline to his house even as his shocked parents tried to come to terms with the untimely tragedy. A pall of gloom descended on the locality.<br /><br />The singer left here Tuesday morning for Maldives from Mumbai.<br /><br />Ishmeet had Nov 26 last year won the 'Voice of India' singing contest, pipping his closest rival Harshit from Uttar Pradesh in a keen contest. Yediyurappa for the problem, angering many Kannada activists.<br /><br />The actor, in his letter to Jayamala Monday, which he has written in Kannada, stressed that he had never intended to hurt the feelings of Kannadigas by speaking at the rally.<br /><br />He wrote: "I came to know that there was some bitterness among a section of Kannada people about my speech on the Hogenakkal issue. I want to say that I'm not a person to hurt feelings of other people and I'm not a person to create any difficulties for others... Now, about 14 years after that, Aamir is in talks with Santoshi to make another film on the same lines.<br /><br />The movie would naturally star Aamir and Salman in the lead roles. Aamir himself has offered to produce the flick.<br /><br />The original film was about two guys who want to get wealthy by marrying a rich girl. But the rich girl swaps her place with another girl (a poor one) to win the love of a man for her own sake and not because of her money. What follows is a hilarious confusion of identities.<br /><br /><span class="fullpost"><br /><br />Santoshi would script the second version of the film but he says it won’t necessarily be a sequel. It would, of course, be difficult to pick up the thread of the story from where it ended in the 1994 movie. And new heroines would obviously be needed for the two heroes.<br /><br />According to sources, Aamir has been very eager to produce the ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ sequel ever since his friendship with Salman became thicker again.<br /><br />Aamir is reportedly also thinking of producing another film on farmers’ suicides. She directly hit at our creative content by saying that she did not like it,” Tewary said. It is so unprofessional. His production company Madras Talkies is supposed to be in the final lap of negotiating a whopping Rs 120 crore deal with the Anil Ambani run Reliance Entertainment Big Picture, for all negative rights for three languages. Industry pundits say that if the deal takes place, it will be the biggest for a South Indian film producer and director.<br /><br />Mani Sir, as he is known in Kollywood (Chennai), has been quietly working on the script of this film since the release of his super hit Guru in January 2007. The elusive director, who never gives interviews, has been keeping a low profile after the demise of his younger brother G Sreenivasan, the moving spirit behind Madras Talkies.<br /><span class="fullpost"><br /><br />The Hindi version will feature Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Govinda in a negative role. Confirming that he has signed up for the movie, Govinda told TNN: "I am actually doing a film with Mani Sir. Isn't it every actor's dream to work with him? We met recently and I heard about my role, which interested me a lot. It is an intense film and my role will definitely surprise the audiences." Ever since then, Himesh Reshammiya has been working non-stop on his acting assignments, so much so that even as he turns 33 today, he is busy on the sets shooting for Kajraare.<br /><br />What's the birthday boy doing in Jordan while shooting for a film when instead he may have well opted to party? "Why do you sound so surprised", Himesh asks. "I have always been like this, especially on special occasions. I like to work on my birthdays as well since this is one resolution I have stuck to throughout my professional career. I don't believe in partying when I could instead use that time in working hard."<br /><br />In Jordan for the shooting of Kajraare (which is produced by Bhushan Kumar and directed by Pooja Bhatt), Himesh Reshammiya is clearly enjoying every day that he is facing the camera. Delivering one chartbuster track after another, he is now being held responsible for enabling a film to gain enough attention weeks before it hits the screens. No wonder, the man is now called as a hit-machine with numerous albums of his (most recently being SINGH IS KINNG) ruling the music charts from top to bottom.<br /><br />However, for the moment we draw his attention to KISMAT KONNECTION which has seen the best ever opening for a Shahid Kapoor starrer. Pritam's songs have been chartbusters yet again and though not all of them have been best placed in the film's narrative, they have found appreciation by one and all ever since the music had hit the stands less than a month back.<br /><br />On contacted, Pritam said in his characteristic modest tone, 'I got a simple brief that the music of KISMAT KONNECTION had to be young, vibrant and catchy. I delivered as per the requirement and am glad that it has caught on so well with the audience.'<br /><br />Well, that indeed is the case with 'Aai Paapi' and 'Move Your Body Now' turning out to be huge chartbusters.<br /><br />'Yes, I am aware about that but if you ask me, my personal favorites are 'Is This Love' followed by 'Bakhuda Tumhi Ho'', smiles Pritam, 'I rarely get an opportunity from filmmakers where I can concentrate on creating melodious music. Most of the times I end up doing rhythm based dance numbers. However, when I read the script of KISMAT KONNECTION, I was delighted on realizing that there was scope for creating a couple of hardcore love songs. The film was released in more than 900 screens worldwide, including the US, UK, Australia, Pakistan and the Middle East amongst other countries.</p> <p align="justify">The highest opening ever for a Shahid Kapoor film, 'Kismat Konnection' grossed Rs 20.76 crs with an average per print of Rs. 3.75 lacs in India. This is the second highest opening weekend for a film in 2008, the first being 'Race', which was produced &amp; distributed by the same team of TIPS and UTV Motion Pictures, respectively.</p> <p align="justify">In the Middle East the film did a total of USD 260,310 (Rs. 1.12 crs). Opening numbers in the Middle East are third highest for a Hindi film in 2008 after Race and Jodhaa Akbar, both of which were distributed by UTV Motion Pictures. </p> <p align="justify">In the US the film collected USD 213,112 (Rs. 91.63 lacs) up to Saturday night. Konkona was all but signed to play Tabu's role in Mira Nair's The Namesake. She had opted out because the dates clashed with her mother Aparna Sen's 17 Park Avenue. But it now appears that the project is taking definite shape as it is being talked about by the people concerned. If things go according to plans, Saif will essay the role of a 'nawab', who goes by the name of 'Laffaz' (only talks no deeds!). This may well be Saif's second period film after PARINEETA.
