Two of Boney Kapoor's productions are being readied for release in the second half of 2008 - one of them has Salman Khan in the lead and the director is looking for an apt title for the movie.

"The Salman starrer which we earlier titled Wanted Dead And Alive is now without a name. We've completed the entire talkies portion in Hyderabad last week. Now only four songs remain to be filmed," Boney told IANS.

The No Entry star plays a cop in the movie, which is a Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Pokhiri. Other than Salman, Ayesha, Om Puri and Mahesh Manjrekar play important roles in it.

Salman had a turbulent year because of his court cases, but Boney says he never lost confidence in him.

"Even the legal hassles never bothered me. Contrary to rumours my film never got delayed because of Salman. We've been moving ahead on schedule. Salman has been extremely cooperative."

Boney's other production, featuring Nana Patekar and Harman Baweja and directed by Anees Bazmi, is also nearing completion.

"Again there's no title for the film. We like to create an aura of mystery around our projects."

"Trust me, I'm as anxious about Sri's comeback as all her fans. Why wouldn't I want to utilise such talent and beauty from my own home? But we can't put her in any project. The script has to justify Sri's presence. And we're working on it."

So, watch out for Sridevi's comeback vehicle soon.

Rajkumar Santoshi has decided to drop Shahid Kapoor from his upcoming film and has decided to take Ranbir Kapoor instead. Santoshi had announced the film with Shahid and Katrina Kaif some time back and had said that it is a romantic comedy. Sources now reveal that it was on Salman Khan’s insistence that the director has decided not to go ahead with Shahid in the lead as Salman didn’t want girlfriend Katrina to star opposite him.

The director now says that the Shahid-Katrina starrer had a story resembling that of Shahid’s Jab We Met which recently released and became a hit and, hence he was not going ahead with the project. However, a source says, “The Halla Bol director had earlier said that the film starring Shahid-Katrina would be worked on soon. The script was ready for a long time and he was working out the dates for the film. When this news broke out, Salman was shocked as he was not aware that Katrina had given her nod for this film with Shahid, with whom he doesn’t share a good equation since the Rockstar Tour in 2006.”

“Salman had asked her to leave the project and at the same time also requested Santoshi to choose a different hero if he wanted Katrina in the film. The acclaimed maker decided to take his Saawariya co-star, Ranbir Kapoor as the hero,” adds the source.

Actor Salman Khan who has recently taken up painting has just gifted friend SRK a painting of the Mount Mary’s Church in Bandra. Apparently Salman is thrilled with his paintings and keeps gifting them to all of his near and dear ones. On the other hand SRK was overjoyed with the painting and has since decided to put it up in his gym at his residence Mannat.

After Khamoshi and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam , Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is all set to appear in yet another Sanjay Leela Bhansali film – Saawariya .

Salman plays a character named Iman, who, apparently, is a lot like Salman in real life – devilish, yet introspective. This name also means a lot to Salman, because that is what his father wanted to name him.

Salman has an unusual take on Bhansali's films. He says, "Sanjay's films are almost perfect, but there is a shortage of humour. That is where I come in."

Salman adds that he has seen no change in Bhansali's style since 'Khamoshi', and that the dedication and reverence the director has towards cinema is proved by the fact that he spends all his money on his films.

Salman recalls that when Bhansali was making 'Khamoshi', he did not have money to buy flowers, so he requested the flower seller to give him flowers on credit. This may be the reason that most of his films go over budget, the actor feels.

Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om releases on the same day as 'Saawariya'. Salman thinks this is just a co-incidence. And he does not think either of the films will suffer because of this. "We have a large population in our country, and therefore, both films will do well – people will watch both," he adds.

Salman is happy to have donned on a new role.

Actor Salman Khan has been inspired by his own character in Saawariya so much so that he is all set to sketch it too. When we met up with him last, he said, Oh yeah, I don’t know why I promised Bhansali that I would do it. Actually, I’m worried that if I do it, the world is going to think that the art director has done it and I won’t get my due.

Well Sallu, looks like you just got your due and any doubt of the credit going to someone else can now be erased!
