David Beckham will front a new campaign for Emporio Armani underwear. The footie ace, 32, has been named the ‘face’ of the designer range and has reportedly signed a 3-year contract which will earn him 20 million (Rs 162.5 crore)Becks will get his kit off for saucy shoots and appear in billboard and fashion magazine adverts to promote ‘Emporio SS08’. Italian designer Giorgio, 73, created the uniforms for the England football team in 2002 and is friendly with the Beckhams.
“The personal relationship was definitely instrumental in this deal,” a source tells the Scotsman. “David and Giorgio get on very well, so it was very much Giorgio’s personal choice. But Armani also sees this as a sound business decision — few individuals have a truly global reach that can match David’s,” the source adds.
