Best Actor Award for Shahrukh khan

It was a performance that got Shah Rukh Khan a unanimous praise for his acting from critics and masses alike.

SRK has won the V Shantaram award as Best Actor for his intense and simmering performance in this year’s hit flick Chak De India . The movie itself won the Best Film (Gold) trophy and its director Shimit Amin was adjudged Best Director (Silver).

Shah Rukh was present with Yash Chopra at the event that was held over the weekend in Mumbai.

The superstar said he was grateful for the honour and a great deal of credit should go to the director, writer (Jaideep Sahni) and the sixteen girls of the hockey team in the film.

Another film that won major awards was Mani Ratnam’s Guru , which won the awards for Best Director, Best Music ( A R Rahman ) and Best Cinematography.

Raju Hirani’s Lage Raho Munnabhai bagged awards for Best Story and Screenplay, while its actor Arshad Warsi won the Best Supporting Actor award.

The Best Actress award went to Malayalam actress Meera Jasmine for her performance in Ore Kadal .
