Shooting of Jodhaa Akbar Completed

The shooting of Jodhaa Akbar has concluded with a lavish song.

The film, directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar , has taken more time than expected to complete. But its shooting finally got over with the filming of an elaborate song that was shot for about 13 days at Nitin Desai’s studios in Karjat.

Aishwarya Rai , who returned from the US a few weeks back, had been participating in the shooting of the song along with her co-star Hrithik Roshan .

Titled “Azeem O Shah, Shahenshah”, the song featured about one thousand dancers in traditional costumes, wielding swords and shields.

Given the enormous scale of the song, the choreographers – Rekha and Chinni Prakash – had a tough task of choreographing and coordinating the dance movements of so many dancers.

In the end, the shooting was completed in estimated time without any major hiccups.

Reports have it that on the final day of the shoot, Hrithik Roshan met everyone in the film’s crew and thanked them.

Having worked hard for months on this historical project, the final day turned out to be an emotional experience for many in the crew. In fact, Gowarikar is reported to be planning a farewell party.

Earlier, ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ was set to release this year, but now it will hit the theatres in January, 2008.
